Event Details

Waterloo Street is one of those amazing streets in Singapore where you can find almost all major world religions side by side, hence its moniker 'Harmony street'.

In this tour we will discover four places of worship: the Jewish Maghain-Avot Synagogue; the Roman Catholic Church of Saints Peter and Paul - recently awarded URA's Architecture Heritage Award; the Hindu Sri Krishnan Temple and the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple - the oldest Buddhist Temple in Singapore and the center of festivities in all of Singapore during the first day of Chinese New Year.

Our trusted guide Sarah Lev will explain about the history and development of the area and the buildings, from very humble beginnings to the vibrant area it is today. She will also highlight the particular rituals, ceremonies and festivals associated with each religious building, and the relationships between them.

On our way to our last stop at the Albert Mall Wet Market and Hawker Centre we will also be able to enjoy the street's specialty stores, uncle trishaws and art murals by Yip Yew Chong. Feel free to stay on for lunch afterwards at the Albert Mall Hawker Centre.
