Our next guided tour takes us to the center of Singapore and up on top of some of the most interesting new buildings in the area. Discover the unique architecture in the Central Business Centre (CBD) and learn about how this island became a "City in a Garden" starting in 1967 with a tree planting scheme, designing parks and park connectors, and legislating minimum standards for sustainable green buildings.
Our guide will share with us what defines a green building and how it is tailored to projects in the tropics as well as who were the architects and landscape designers behind the various iconic award-winning buildings we will see.
We will meet at Raffles Place and walk to the amazing CapitaSpring building where we will begin our visit with a panoramic view from the rooftop Sky Garden located on level 51 and walk through the cascading lush garden spread over 3 levels.
After a short break at Lau Pa Sat for refreshments we will head over to Marina One, a joint Singaporean-Malaysian project and an integrated commercial and residential complex. Our last stop will be at the 27-story Oasia Hotel which looks like a giant living tree located in the Tanjong Pagar area.
