Join us for a Singapore Jewish Heritage tour with guide Sarah who is an active member of the Jewish community in Singapore. She was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel to a Baghdadi father and will share Jewish traditions, customs and the history of the Jews in Singapore.
Meeting point : Somerset MRT Exit A Exeter road
The visit starts at Chessed El Synagogue where you will get a chance to meet with the Rabbi and see the old Baghdadi Torah Scrolls.
Continue your visit by strolling around the Jewish neighborhood called the "Mahala" and learn about Jewish life and where some famous residents such as David Marshall and Jacob Ballas used to live.
Our last stop will be the Maghain Avot Synagogue and we will end our tour at the Kosher restaurant located in the Jacob Ballas building after we pay a short visit to the local Kosher store and learn about Jewish traditional food and ingredients.
Sarah Levy from Kerem Tours is a Tourist Guide licenced by the Singapore Tourism Board and all rules and precautionary measures for your safety and well-being are complied with. For security reasons all tour participants must provide their full name and the last 4 digits of their passport or IC number in order to be permitted to the Jewish Welfare premises. You will be asked to provide this information when registering.
On the day of the tour:
1. Please remember to bring a photo ID or a copy of your passport with you
2. Dress code ; it is advised to cover your shoulders.
3. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring an umbrella and water.
