The exhibition 'Tropical: Stories from Southeast Asia and Latin America' explores a diverse collection of 200 artworks created by over 70 artists on both sides of the globe and compares the impact of colonialism on the arts in these regions, literally worlds apart.


This is a unique opportunity to see artworks which are often shown for the first time in Singapore . We will see 20th century paintings by famous Mexican artists Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, works by Brazilian artist Candido Portinari and Indonesian artist Affandi as well as creations by Filipino artist Victorio Edades, to name a few.


Our trusted guide, Sarah Lev is a docent at the National Gallery and will also share interesting facts about the curating and how this exhibition came about.


Admission to this special show at the national gallery is ticketed. The price of this event does NOT include your admission ticket. You can buy your museum admission ticket on the spot before the start of the tour.
