It's Mahjong time!
Did you know that Mahjong has become even more popular both with Singaporeans and expats over the last year?
If you were ever interested in learning to play Singaporean Mahjong, now is the time! The game is played with a set of 148 tiles and requires insight and strategy. The aim of Mahjong is to pick up and discard tiles in order to build a winning hand by completing various combinations of tiles. In this perspective it is similar to various Western card-games, such as poker or gin rummy.
Please note that this is a tentative date, the main objective of this invite is to get an overview of who is interested in learning mahjong first, and then we will organise groups that fit your schedule. We will have both afternoon and evening sessions, so just let us know in the registration form what would work best for you.
Registrations will close on Monday, June 28.
If you are planning to become a regular member of the mahjong group, you have to be a BLAS member (membership link). However, if you want to try out mahjong first, you are welcome to join our introduction sessions as a non-member.
Hope to see many of you at our Mahjong tables!
