Take a deep dive in Peranakan culture & architecture and emerge in an amazing contemporary art collection

Our private tour guide Sarah Levy will let us explore the beautiful Peranakan Baba House, as well as a mixture of architectural styles along Everton Road, including the shophouses designed by Wee Teck Moh before WWI . We will then continue to Blair Plain conservation area to discover the brightly coloured shophouses surrounded by wrought iron gates. Sarah will not only explain the origin of the shophouses and styles such as Rococo, Baroque, Jubilee & Art Deco but also the special features embedded in the house exteriors. Along the way, we will come across the heritage murals depicting local life, painted by Singaporean artist Yip Yew Chong.

Finally, we will have a private visit to Art Porters Gallery located inside a beautifully designed shophouse on Spottiswoode Park Road, showcasing an amazing contemporary art collection, on top of the CASA exhibition by British Israeli artist Chloë Manasseh.
